What: Owner, Aqua Surf Shop Residence: San Francisco, CA Bio: Devin Dargell was born in San Diego and grew up a couple blocks from the beach enjoying surfing up and down the coast of Southern California. Devin’s mom being a travel agent and having family members in different parts of the world, helped foster his love for traveling which transformed into looking for as many different surfing adventures as possible. Needing a change in life, in 1992 Devin selected to go to San Francisco State University, because of the access to natural beauty and diverse culture of the bay area, and of course, the stories of how good the surf is at Ocean Beach. He moved into an older beach house on 47th Ave with some friends and later graduated in 1997 with a degree in Finance and Banking. He put himself through school with loans and working as a bartender, which was the best job for taking surf trips for up to months at a time and keep a job. Devin lives in the outer sunset with his wife Janaina and still bar tends a couple days a week. Jana and Devin were married in 2006 and have been enjoying all of what the bay area has to offer.
